Getting started

1. Set up the base

Place the base over a known point or start it on an autonomous position, and confirm it is transmitting corrections.

2. Connect the rover

Link the rover by radio or NTRIP, and confirm a fixed solution before you measure anything.

3. Check into control

Measure a known point and compare — if it does not agree, stop and find out why before the job proceeds.

4. Work the job

Collect, stake or scan, and keep the raw files for post-processing and quality checks.

Guides & how-tos

RTK base and rover setup

Base placement, radio links and confirming a fixed solution.

NTRIP configuration

Network corrections over cellular — mountpoints, credentials and connection checks.

Tilt compensation

Using the tilt-compensated IMU (SL7: 60° tilt) so the pole does not have to be level.

Image measurement

Measuring from photos with the SL9 — 2–5 cm accuracy within 15 m of the camera.

SLAM-Fix switching

How the SL9 switches between RTK and SLAM when satellite signals drop out.

Satsurv field workflows

Survey, stakeout and coding in the Satsurv field app.

Post-processing with SGS 2.0

Static processing and baseline adjustment — SGS 2.0 handles 100+ baselines.

Site localization

Grid-to-ground calibration and local coordinate setup for the job site.

Troubleshooting

No fixed solution?

Check sky visibility, the correction link (radio or NTRIP) and the base position. Move clear of obstructions and re-initialize.

Heights do not agree?

Check the antenna height, the geoid model and the vertical datum — most height errors live in one of the three.

Radio link dropping?

Check antenna connections, channel and power settings, and line of sight between base and rover.

Tilt readings look wrong?

Re-calibrate the IMU on level ground and confirm the pole length entered in the software.

Points do not match control?

Re-check into a second known point. If both disagree the same way, suspect the base setup or the coordinate system.
